good morning from me to you....is a doppleganger aka threadkile????because as stated in a different thread thats whatmi am considering changing my user name too....last thing excuse my newbieness but how do change your icon...it might not hurt

lemme take this back to the beginning, jeremy whining about how hard it is to get comments...
the reality is, the more you give, the more you will get. if you want help, give help. if you want to learn, try to teach. if you want to be noticed, take time to notice others.

It appears that you have recieved 3 times as many comments then you have made. When you make enough comments to even out that ratio, then it might be okay to come on back and voice your opion. Until then, I personally don't have too much pitty for you. |

One more thing:
I am still new here but I have found that if you ask normally you get a response. If I see a thread title newbie I click it to see and answer it if I can. If I can't I am nice enough to tell them I can't and give them a generous bump or two. Usually every week I go through the threads and see what I missed in the hours I was away or asleep. Generally everyone here is pretty nice. I didn't get much response in this thread before it was kicked of the front page but plenty viewed it 109 people. //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=202611
I was just happy about the fact that I didn't have to edit much to get what I wanted. But have found out that after the Free Study VIII challenge and during the Minimalism challenge my monitor was not calibrated correctly and am now hurting for that.

I've had more than my share of problems getting comments on non challenge entries. There''s so many threads started on a daily basis it can be hard to keep up with every request for help. Over time, people are going to be inclined to reply to people who's names they recoginze. Good photographers who have previous success are going to get more looks than hacks like me. :)
I try to make a point to comment whenever I can on other peoples requests for help. I'm not nearly as good as I could be, but I try. On occasion I'm rewarded with a nice comment in return. On other occasions I get PMs telling me I'm a talentless hack. :)
I also make a point to comment well on at least 10 entries per challenge. Some timese I make it, some times I don't. But I do make the effort. You may consider trying some of these things. Like they say, "You have to give to get."

and if you start really looking at other people's works and commenting on them, you can learn what works and what doesn't. developing your eye isn't always about what you see through the lens. a lot of it is about what you see through other people's captures. |

I actually think you've got some interesting work under your belt, but this post really smacks of an attention-getting plot.
In this past challenge I recieved comments from many new folks who I didn't recognize. You don't need to be a multi-ribbon DPC-bot to tell me that some aspect of my image connected with you. You don't need to be a professional to tell me that you think you're not sure why I composed in a certain way. You should know better given how long you've been around.
My average vote recieved is only a touch higher than yours and I feel that my comments have helped many people... And so have they since I often get PM's thanking me. Try to get your helpful comments ratio up and more people will want you in their clique.
You get out what you put in.
