I've had a chance to fiddle with one of my outtakes from the Free Study...
And caught this guy with my lens before he waded away up the stream... this was right out in front of my apartment! Luckily, I looked out and saw him at just the right moment... grabbed my camera and snapped away from my third floor balcony... didn't have a chance to grab a polarizer, and my monopod was down in my car.
Just figured I'd share these with everyone. =)

Nice herons, guys. We have herons and egrets on the our lake here but they are awfully elusive. I was hoping to go out this week and sort of hunker down until they didn't mind me but unfortunately, it's been in the 30s and raining/snowing so far! |

In the movie "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield his professor asked him, what he thought of "The Great Gatsby"
And Rodney, in his unique way stuttered a bit and the blurted out "He Was GREAT!!!"
Well, now how you miss with a Great Blue Heron, I say? The birds name alone, get's the image off to a great start even before you point and focus. Kidding of course.
I like the surfer and the GBH near the rocks is sweet.
