I love UPS i just got my Nikon D70 from the shop they fixed everything but I just also got my Canon Rebel XT in the mail also with a bunch of stuff. The reason I switched cause I have been using my friends Canon Rebel XT this past week and liked it alot. Much easier to hold in my hand since its a little smaller also lighter. My Nikon D70 even though I liked the camera alot I sold to my cousin cause he wanted it so bad.
I also had a Nikon 4300 sold that as well on ebay along with my G4 mac cube. Sorry to see my Nikon 4300 go but that was becoming a dust collector.
The Rebel is really cool I like it, got a good deal on ebay for it. For the D70 I liked that alot as well but more comfortable with the Rebel.
Well thats it just wanted to share my joy.

As much as I hate to see someone leave the camp, it's refreshing to hear someone swithing for ergonomics rather than spite, or the belief that switching will improve their photography.

If you're gonna switch, (either direction), that's the way to do it. Be familiar with both on a first-hand level, and go with what works best for you.
