Anyone shoot this type of event before? My guess is that lighting must be awful. We have an event coming up next week and I am wondering if it's worth going to try to get a few shots.

If you like motocross go anyway. if nothing else you get to enjoy the races. However, if you like motocross AND bring your camera you can get good experience at this venue. That way if you are ever in the position again you shouold be able to remember what did, or did not, work the first time.

I've not shot motocross, but I generally shoot in very dark conditions. I'd go for several reasons: 1) it's good fun, 2) it's experience of shooting in harsh lighting, 3) you can practice motion-blurred shots.
