I think instead of a "buy, sell, trade" forum, I would like to see a link under the "equiptment" button called "used equiptment"
Something that doesn't need to be bumped so much by the seller to optimize the visibility, and it would keep the forums less cluttered.
A seller could post an item for sale using the same format as the forums, and once the item is sold, they would be required to delete their post.
Instead of posting questions about the item, the buyer would be promted to send the seller a PM.
Just a thought. I think it could work really well, and would help keep the frontpage 'recent forum activity' clear of sale items.

Also, I would like to see the sell option available to members only. This will help keep fraudulent sellers out. And make the buy option available to members and registered users.

That's a good idea. I like the Member's Only aspect as well. |

Good ideas, but you would definitely need some sort of visibility on the front page otherwise nobody would ever notice when a new item goes up for sale.

I proposed this idea in the following thread a while back. I think it would be a great idea to have a "Buy,Sell,Trade" forum.

This section would be a great addition to the site... at least a way to provide a description and link to an ebay listing |

I can't wait for this to get up and running.

Not having to bump a forum entry is a definite plus, but the pospective buyers having to PM to get questions answered is problematic. First, on a popular item it could result in the seller getting many PMs all asking the same thing, which would not be as likely if asked in a forum thread for all to see. And second, while I understand the desire to maximize the number of 'interesting' posts in the recent activity pane, a marketplace will have to get at least as much exposure as a forum thread to be even remotely useful to a seller.
