if you put yourself out there in a site like this you are fair game....good bad indifferent...accept smile and once again learn...
i spent several weeks at a site where i got no feedback and felt unfufilled....it may have looked to some that i crashed and burned in the free study....but i felt fantastic knowing that over 200 hundred people took the time to look at my silly little pussy willow bud and vote on it....time is precious and i am greatful that people felt me worthy of sharing theis....buzzmom steps off the soap box

I would give my right arm (I'm left handed) to get good constructive critiques of my photos. I was really disappointed in my placement for the April free study #427/507. 93 people rated the photo a 2 - 4 but only 3 people left comments. How can I improve a below 5.0 photo without any feedback? I am now commenting only on images I rate 5 or below. The 9s and 10s get plenty of praise, it is the folks in the middle that sincerely want to improve that really need the comments!

CBlack.... iwill ask you to start with yourself....after submitting your photo what did you yourself see wrong with it....what do you think would have made it better.....then again dont you also learn from making comments on others photos.....are they constructive and helpful...if they are then you too will learn from that as well

so why do they? do u have the answer? people who want to do better learn from posting their photos after the challenge. some people may complain because their photo did poorly but some people here actually want to learn. so if you dont like the after the challenge posts than dont look at them, we dont need negative attitude when were trying to be helped

Just like the threads that follow competitions where someone says "I had all wonderful comments, so why'd my picture do so poorly" ...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - good or bad, just as you are. I think Andy's (awpollard) comment was a tad sarcastic, some humor intended. But even if not, you have to admit there are alot of threads that start that way after a challenge. I happen to agree with your point that people want to learn by "posting their photos after the challenge", but again, I think all opinions should be free to flow.
