Congratulations on all the wonderful entries. Some great, great shots!
I took my photo on the last evening and did zero editing. Duh!
(I still like it and am seeing more detail on my monitor than mostly everyone else saw.)
I am wondering if either one of these would have scored better. Thanks for any input.

I loved the one you entered. I would of like to seen it a little more detail in the forground. So I hope you don't mind but I did an edit to show what I am talking about.

Thanks. That does look better. I tried briefly to bring the horse detail out more but it looked worse, so I submitted as is. Then, I tried all week and could never get it to look right. Shadow/highlight made the colors look funny. Levels or curves didn't work for me either. What did you do?

Sometimes we overlook the simple things trying to make an easy adjustment hard. At least that what I do in challenges. It's funny how I can remember the easy adjustments without the pressure of it being my entry. I think we all or most of use do that. Kind of like writers block, but in our case Edit block.

Here is all I did.
1.I created a duplicate layer
2.In the duplicate layer I desaturated
3.Then Inverted the duplicate layer
4.Went to filters > Blur and applied Gaussian Blur @ 30 pixels
5.Blended the duplicate layer with overlay and adjusted down to 50 % Opacity.
