Do any of you use a "Web Accelerator"?
My ISP is offering a free trial of the "Venturi Client", so I downloaded it.
Of course it claims to be up to 5 times faster, but I think thats only if you choose to adjust the compresion (quality) of the images being downloaded. That is of no use to me, since I want to see the highest image available, especailly while on here.
I can turn that option off, and the client still claims to make web browsing faster (without dithering the images), but I dont see much if any speed difference that way..
I will tell you it hauls butt if you put the image quality to "lowest", but the images look horrific..

Can't offer any help/suggestions here, but that is the same thing my Mom experiences using her "new & improved" dial-up access AOL - gag me with a Lima Bean!

I got one free from my service provider. I think it does make a slight difference some of the time. However, there have been times when I have to disable it or nothing works at all, and when I want to load large files to sites like Shutterstock, it is impossible without disabling the accelerator.
