LOL, I didn't spend quite that much (only about $1,300) and it's just a touring bike. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of loose change around to do anymore (dang wife and kid). |

I am far from being a pro, or even a talented amateur, but here is my experience:
My highest scoring DPC entry was made with a 2.6 megapixel camera, just luck (not talent) at finding the right subject and composition to please DPC voters.
My higher end 6 and 8 megapixel prosumer cameras have yet to score well, so I can tell you firsthand, it is the photographer not the equipment that makes the photograph.

We have a lot of awful ideas with great cameras .
There are a lot of Ribbons taken with 250-400$ cameras here.
Check Canon S30 for example. |
