I was just going through some old photos trying to get my b&w conversion down...do these look pretty good or are they missing something?
Thanks

In my view, animals are not good subjects for BW with a few exceptions. Lions or big cats in particular have great colors - why would you take that away?
For cars (trucks, etc.) OLD vehicles are good for BW, newer ones such as yours are not.
There's my 2 cents. |

There are many ways to convert to b/w. It would be helpful to know how you did these so we can help you tweak things a bit.

I have been told that B&W photography is all about capturing great textures and contrast, more then the simple elimination of color.
Even with my untrained eye, I notice that when I look at a B&W photo I focus on textures and contrast and when I look at a color photo, I am focused on the colors.
Anyway, that's what I have learned a bit about. |

My first impression of the images is that there is not enough contrast or texture to make them good choices for B & W even though compositionally they seem to work.
