Would appreciate comments on the image here
I have used a slight blur around the edges, but sharpenned increasingly down to the backgammon board.
Is it too much ?

Seems like an OK effect to me. : ) |

I like the photo - the interesting costumes, the colors, the nice interior, the dishes, the game...... it has me thinking, imagining and coming back for more.
BECAUSE the image has so much to offer, I'm not sure if it should have the blur effect there, as well.
I do like the effect, but I'm not sure it actually ADDS to the photo.

Nice shot.
...oh, um, I mean - I think it definitely complements the shot. The dark colors and the blur effect seems to add to the authenticity of the period - although I don't think they had Photoshop back then. ;-) |

wow i really like the photo ....i feel like it tells a very involved story...there is so much in it yet it allworks well together...the effect is cool and draws your focus to why those two men are there...i too would like to see what it looks like without the effect |

I really like the composition in this photo and am actually a big fan of combining blur and sharpening effects. My attention is drawn straight to the player's face on the right, so if you were trying to draw attention to the backgammon board, you might want to play around with the lighting to bring it out a bit more. But I personally don't think you need to since the person on the right is the most active subject anyway and probably deserves the most attention. Very nicely done!
