Still on, life is insane, and I just resigned as a store manager this week. Give me a couple of days to get my life back in order. :) If possible, people should think of leaving late Sunday/Monday. That way I have time to schedule in one more major event.

I am sure I will need to schedule some rest times as well. I am also not as young as I once was...

Alright!! We're (my other half and I) definetly confirmed.... flights booked and hotel reservations made!! :-) Looking forward to meeting everyone.

One question, do you think it will be possible to get any decent night shots without a tripod??? I have one, it's definetly not the best in fact probably the worst, and I'm not sure I really want to drag it along. But I'm afraid I'll miss alot of good shots with out it... I guess I just answered my own question. Better to bring then to not. :-)

Is there anything I can do to help with this? Just let me know.

a tripod would be most helpful, but you could always bring a beanbag and look for flat surfaces. :)

Yeah, I was thinking about doing that too. Hopefully those flat surfaces are layed out just right for that perfect composition. :-D

:( Had to cancel my reservations today. We are not going to be able to go. Finances just won't cut it for this trip to be a priority. Have a great time!

If anyone is interested, Penn Camera rents equipment (chance to try out that L lens or Fisheye) by the day or weekend. Only bad thing is they are closed on Sunday...

Penn Camera Rental

d, who is checking into renting a lens for New Mexico....

Not to step on toes (I don't know if there are additional plans for after dinner), but there are some photogenic sites near my house in Frederick. These include the city 'skyline' aka Clustered Spires, and Carroll Creek. Mountains around town also make pretty sunsets, though I personally haven't shot them yet.

Hey guys. I've gotten some PMs from people who are worried about coming to DC in light of the attacks in the UK this morning.

At this point in time, heck at most points in time I see no reason for concern. For starters, the GTG is still a few weeks off. Second, I categorically refuse to let any terrorist dictate my life. Period.

Guys, any time we let people like this dictate how we live, they win. Unacceptable. So please, don't make rash decisions in the heat of the moment.

Don't let fear dictate your life.

if we try to plan our lives around them (outside of reasonable precautions), they win.

i hope there's not a single person out there who changes their plans because of this.
