Proportion of males to females on DPC? any idea?

I was thinking of this while doing my jewelry submission, which may be schemed more toward one sex than the other. I did a search and found this question asked a few times before a couple of years ago, but couldn't find an answer. Is this privileged info, or something which can be shared with the dregs, just for interest's sake.

Would be intereseting to know some of the demographics of the DPC population, which I so cooperatively filled out in my profile. Just in sweeping percentages, like 60% male, 40% female.

Any possibility of finding out, SC?

Just wanted to say that I saw your post, but don't know the answer. Would be hard to tell, since some don't list gender, but I think it would be interesting to know also.

The stats I ran yesterday (see thread on statistics) showed roughly 4800 males to 1750 females. There were 29800 with no gender indicated. I had already deleted a lot of records with no activity (no challenge entries, no votes), so this just covers those that have participated.

Florals tend not to do well here because they're very difficult to do imaginatively and unless you're amazingly creative, once you've seen one well done floral pic, you've seen them all. :-p

Yes but woman are more nurturing, they leave nicer comments and are more generous with their votes.

Ladies can be techincal too you know! But seeing that only 26% of the members with a gender are female it may explain why nudes do well and flowers don't on this site.

Pawdrix - so long as your shot isn't in bad taste, I'm sure it will do fine. We aren't a bunch of prudes you know! Besides it is about creativity not the score of the photo.

well they say it takes a village to raise a child....it takes a family to support an artist..i am currently on bed rest due to a bad back and myn husband went and bought me a lap top so i can remain connected and continue to edit photos....no one stands alone ...some men might admit out loud to love a floral shot....but a well done photo cant help but move us all equally

you ar right too much percocet...i was thinking that it dooesnt matter how many men verses woman as we are`all really trying to acheive the same thing...and an emotional picture from a man or a woman is still an emotional picture....maybe i should wait till after the 12 step program to post again
