Have an appointment to photograph an executive during a Monday appointment. The shot will end up on the cover of a trade magazine. Originally, this magazine offered me $100, plus expenses, for the cover shot. As I am an unknown photographer to them and don't command much money (plus the place is right down the road from me and not inconvenient to get to) I accepted.

I received and email today saying that they wanted 2-3 additional photos for the inside and they thought $100 was fair for that, but would renegotiate. I countered with a $150 offer.

Am I going too low? to high? What should I consider next time?

It depends on the magazine. It depends on how many prints, how many are sold, etc. I think we need more info.

Considering you're only getting paid $100 for the cover shot, I think $150 would be alright for a couple of extra internal shots. Now, if you were getting paid more for the cover shot then I'd say go for it.

Another question though is are they planning on doing anything with these pictures OTHER than putting them in the magazine? Do they get to use them for advertising or anything?
