Okay, this is bugging the daylights out of me.

I've installed the Fuji "RAW File Converter LE" and it just doesn't want to recognize my RAW (or as Fuji likes to call them RAF) files. Does anyone know of a program out there (preferably free) that will let me convert RAF files?

When I try it with IrfanView I get the following error....

Thank you in advance.

I had (ok, still have) the same problem earlier tonight... The best I can do if convert the RAF file with the FinePixViewer and convert them into TIF image, but I can't edit them at all. Then once they are converted into TIF, I can work on them with PS. I still think the initial quality is better in RAW (or RAF). Earlier Thread

Thanks, Sorry nobody ever answered your thread though. I'm not sure I can really afford to shoot in raw since with my 512 mb Xd card I can only store 61 pictures at a time. But I'll see if I can even do anything with it first. Maybe I'll stick with it (once I figure it out). Now I'm rambling and should just go to bed.

Again thanks.

Actually I just tried it that way, and nothing...gave me another error message saying it wasn't supported. Grrr. Stupid Fuji has to be difficult.

That worked great (once I figured out how to DL). Now I just have to play around with it. Thank you very much.

Glad I could help! But now you got me curious and probably keep me up for at least another hour! I'll just have to try it myself. The software it self is in english I hope?

When I had my S5000 used S7raw, a free raw decoder for Fuji cameras. Don't know if it will work with S5100 files, but worth a glance.

I'm sure you'll be able to google it.

It works with the S5100, and the software is in englsih too. Would really suck if it wasn't.

I did not like any of the software that came with my S5100. I did not like the drag and drop of the Raw LE Converter. I can live witht hat and going to try S7raw and see how it does. I have plenty of software to edit most images. PSP 6 7 8 9 and PS 8 and CS with about 300 filters (not the cheap kind).
