Nikon is full of new changes in an effort to control their market share. In addition to announcing their new D50 + D70s digital camera's. They have also announced that existing owners of the D70 can get a new firmware update.
The firmware update includes the following additions and refinements:
Improved performance for the 5-area autofocus system's Dynamic Area AF and Closest Subject Priority Dynamic Area AF modes.
Updated menus with a new design similar to that of the D70s, making them easier to view and quicker to recognize.
Added in-camera page setup support for PictBridge compatible printers. Nikon Corporation will release the D70 firmware updater worldwide in mid-May 2005.
In addition to the above Nikon has also produced two new lens.
The 18-55 lens, with F/3.5-5.6, comes in black or silver will available with the new Nikon D50 as a kit for $100 more.
As well as the 55-200mm F/4-5.6. Keep it coming Nikon...

The firmware is listed for May release worldwide. The lens are available in June 2005. |

wonder why they would announce it so soon, instead of announcing it when it is available.
Oh well, if only Canon would do the same for the Digital Rebel.
