Nikon has just announced a new DSLR, the Nikon D50. Its 6.1 MP that uses SD memory cards. Its shoots 2.5 fps, and has a built in resize image button to make images ready for emailing. ISO range is only 200-1600, weighs 1lbs, 3oz, thats 540G. The Nikon D50 is rumored to be selling at about $650-700 USD. Sounds like Nikon is in fierce price war with Canon.
I see more great buys for consumer in the coming summer months. In case you have not heard, the Nikon D70 price has been reduced. There is a rebate with Epson printer, about $100 USD. The new Nikon D70s is being added as well. Street price $1,000 USD. It about the same as the D70, the LCD screen has been increased to 2 inches. New Nikon software has also been added. Minor other features. Still the same D70.
The D2hs and the D2X are the front runners for Nikon. Prices for these two range from very low to over priced. Careful there are many scams to steal your money.

This is at least the second thread I have seen on this camera today on this site. Personally I'm happy with mine for now.
