Hi, I don't think there's been a thread about that (I did a quick check) so here it goes. I'm currently shopping for a D70 and I've found 3 units left in 30km radius (damn Canadians and their metric system). What I've heard from sales people is that the D70 is discontinued and the new one will be available next month. Supposedly the D70s. From what I've heard, the improvements will be minor.
Now I'm wondering, should I go ahead and buy a D70 (one the rare left) and probably pay for less than what the S model will cost.
Did anybody dig up any info on the specs of the new one versus the old?

Personally, I'd wait -- it'll be well worth it. I think I paid more than the rebel XT is going for now, for my 300d just 3 or so months before it came out. I wish I was a bit more patient. I still miss my s5100 sometimes btw.

Man I feel like going to buy one tomorrow! I've had enough of my S5100. I need more speed. Also, I was hired to shoot a swimsuit / lingerie fashion show in june (yeah guys, be jealous... I met the models and... Wow!) I don't want to do it with the slow S5100. I wonder if I'll miss it as much as you David.

I don't think you'd lose anything by getting a D70. The changes rumored to be in the D70s are very minor. Still, its only 2 days til the formal announcement, then you'll know for sure if the D70s is a better fit for you.
