That's a tough price range, why not tell us what your requirements are? I've been shopping for a new camera for my daughter but her requirement is the ultracompact variety. We've looked at the Nikon 4600, for about $175, and the Canon SD200, for about $200.
But if you want some control, my son's camera, the A60, is a great camera for under $200, but only 2 megapixels. I think the A75 is now in that price range, if I recall, it's 3 mp.
If you could spend $300, there's some great prosumer cameras to be had. The Panasonic Z3, the Canon S1 (which I have), are all around $300. They are only 3 mp but they have great zoom range and full manual.
There's a newer model replacing the Z3, it might be the Z4, but I don't recall. I did read a review of the Z5, but it's really more along the lines of the Z20, and it's around $499.
You can put your requirements in the camera selector at dpreview.com. It will give you all cameras matching, and then you can see the specs side by side and some samples. |
