That alone would make it worth it. Had 10MB and filled it. Bumped to 25MB and I already filled that too.

Um, i'm not particularly interested in the position, but i was wondering what a site coucil actualy does..

There's a basic description of what the Site Council does, and a list of current members, on the Help/About page.

As the page states, our primary responsibility is to keep Drew and Langdon aware of the needs of the community. This means not only communicating between Drew/Langdon and the community, but also filtering and prioritizing user requests and proactively identifying site needs.

Candidates should be able to devote a reasonable amount of time to the site on a more-or-less weekly basis. Of course, life, vacations, etc, get in the way, and since this is not a paid gig we do not expect (or want) Site Council responsibilities to be anyone's top priority), but accepting a position on Site Council does imply a responsibility to the users to act on issues at hand on a somewhat timely basis. Candidates should understand that in any community, the leaders will sometimes get beat up pretty hard (sometimes deserved, other times not so much). A thick skin is critical, but so is the ability to look at one's own actions and take responsibility for honest mistakes.

Ideal candidates for Site Council are those who have a firm grasp of the current status and future direction of the site, and are able to come up with creative solutions to help us get there. An understanding of the importance of the community to DPChallenge is critical, and candidates should demonstrate a commitment to maintaining DPChallenge as a fun, constructive and supportive community of talented artists.

I'd love the position, but I am too new to have a clue about the direction. Then of course I don't really have the skill either, yet.

Wonder how that happens... (trying to look innocent)

Well stated CJ! The good of the community should be top priority for any candidate. I know you guys will make the best choice possible!

I submitted a brief response to the Site Council. DPC is more valuable than most tools and resources any of us have. At least that is my humble opinion.

I'll throw my votes at BradP and Bear. Both highly qualified to wear the robe. They do have to wear a robe, right?

Let the confirmation hearings begin!

I've always wondered why Robert wasn't on SC already. I think he would be a great counsel member. Brad is a great choice as well, but how soon do you think he'd fill up that 100 mb of portfolio space?

I also think Daniel (Graphicfunk) would make a great SC as well. He is extremely knowledgeable and talented as well.

Just thought I'd add another voice, but rather than actually using my own, I'll just note that I'm entirely in agreement with telehubbies statement.

I have no problem with the key sugestions of names, however I feel that where possible SC should represent the multi cultural / multi nationality of the site as well......

I'd also like to toss scalvert in to that mix. I think He's repeatedly demonstrated that he got a great sense of humor, a very good understanding of both photography and post processing, and is a voice of calm reason in the forums.

And did I mention he's a kick arse photographer? :)

This place is nuts!

Marzipan is a blight on the candy world. Those innocent little looking fruit shaped cakes...you bit into them expecting sugar bliss only to get...marzipan. Yick.
