Cool stuff Trav. I like the second one better, feels very summery :). I do not really agree with the desaturation on the first however.

The blue is fighting with the greyscale to set the mood of the shot. On one hand you have a dark, gloomy almost stormy setting and then you have bright blue water, which suggests sunny, summery, nice conditions. Perhaps that was your point with the desatuation, but to be honest it just falls flat and the conflict is more aesthetic than metaphoric.
The second shot is a classic composition. |
