How about Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for the members challenges.
I think the members challenges are far harder to do well in because the standard is higher.
Just imagine a nice shiny Gold ribbon in your profile.
This would give members a little more reconition and people could see at a glance which type of challenge the award was for.
This could also encourage non members to join to maybe try to win a more prestigious award.(not that it`s just about winning:-)

Also what would be nice is the same scale you get at the end of a challenge telling you how many 1's 2's etc you have recieved but during the week

I think its harder to place in the OPEN challenge, as there are far more entries, and also most of the people entering the members challenge ALSO entry the open challenge.

Whether it's harder or not, it's not a bad idea...some kind of extra recognition for site membership?
