Go$%^%*! I had been saving for the last 4 months and was about to go buy a Rebel this weekend. I only had one last thing to take care of beforehand....get my car inspected. That friggin lemon just sucked me dry for $1586.14. Ugghhhhhhh!!! Back to the drawing board. Whoever said Honda Civic's are cheap to maintain deserves a knuckle sandwich, courtesy of my empty wallet. Man I'm pissed. |

Well, if you buy mine you could save some money off of the price for a new one...

The thought had crossed my mind, however, I can't afford a case of beer at the moment. I'll get one soon, if sales do well the next couple of months, maybe I'll get one by July. maybe sooner, I'm resourceful. |

Nobody ever said Hondas were cheap to maintain. They run a long time, and generally don't break down often...but when they (or any import car)need work (parts) you pay extra, lots extra in some cases.
My 93 tauraus with 167,000 miles passed inspection on Monday...no issues. Sorry, but I had to share that;p

I hear ya. the doozy was a leaky exhaust line. At least I know where that "noise" was coming from. I'm only bummed because I just dumped damn near a grand into the thing for timing belt and water pump maintenance 3 months ago. Good thing I waited to buy the camera. Then I'd be F^&%#D. |

I do feel your pain. I had to fix my exhaust twice in the last year..the exhaust is original!!!! so it is a one piece...no cheap way if the pipe of muffler goes bu to replace it all. I had to replace the pipe to converter flange (it rusted away) and patched the muffler (probably not legal, but it don't leak and they didn't see it this year or last - it is on top under the band clamp).
My wife's van is due in August...i think it will need an exhaust. And both cars are showing some surface rust...
