Canon EOS 20D KIT (w/18-55 lens)
256mg Compact Flash Card
1gig Compact Flash Card
Compact Flash Reader PC Card
Battery Grip
2nd Battery
$1,578.65 (including shipping)
I think I got a decent deal...
I went with the kit, because the difference was only $90. And the 18mm will give me a lense that's got enough "wide-angle" for now. This way I can invest in a better telephoto lens. Perhaps IS USM 28-135mm or perhaps a 70-200mm unit.
Now I just need a Flash (doubt my Olympus FL-40 will work) and a decent telephoto zoom lens.

Sounds like a terrific deal to me! The Canon 20d (imho) is the best bang for the buck today. The 350D runs a close second.

Now Doctornick, why would I do that...when I can get the following?
$170, 4GB Hitachi MicroDrive CF+ Type II
(Or $425 for equivalent to 10gig)
BradP, I hear ya.... I do love my E-20N. Best feel I've ever felt in a digital camera. However, I find myself being asked to help friends with their weddings. And other indoor events...and the ISO levels just don't quite cut it. I do love the richness of colors and details that my E-20N captured. I do hope the 20D compares...
Here was one of my first shots with my Olympus E-20N
(this is when I truly new I did NOT make a mistake going to digital. It was so vibrant.)
On the flip side, I guess I could say I am sticking with 20's... *lol*
As for where questions where I got all that...and whether it is gray market. Nope...it's a reputable dealer. Dell! However, they screwed up my order and I spent 3 hours dealing with them. So I got about $70 extra off on top of it all. |

Noise level is probably my biggest gripe with the E-10.
ISO80 is about all I can really shoot at, as 160 is mediocre and 320 is pretty bad. I do agree about the feel of the camera though. Solid, and well-laid out controls are a big plus, though read/write is way too slow and battery consumption is insane!
On the other hand, who cares, when you add the battery grip and the TCON-300 and can look really cool like this:
ROFL!
(sure gets heavy by the end of the day when equipped like that,
then add the flash bracket, cable & off-camera FL-40 flash!)

"gh read/write is way too slow and battery consumption is insane!"
[[[Actually, that + ISO was the number one reason I am actually upgrading.]]]
And I was never able to get my TCON-300
:(
Hey BradP, what do you think is a fair price for a good condition Olympus E-20N + the following accessories:
FL-40 Flash
Flash Bracket
Battery Grip
Remote Cable
256mb Compact Flash card
Olympus Macro Lens
Crystal Optics Wide angle lens
Crystal Optics Wide 2x lens
Crystal Optics Filters (polarizer, haze, UV)
The "battery grip mount" for the TCON 300 (spent a year trying to get one at a good price... *lol*)
