On Sunday night I had to drive over 100 miles with a migraine, which led to me throwing up and collapsing when I got home :-/
Because of this I didn't get round to sorting out what would have become my entry for Colours. My backup entry was already in and is doing 'okay', but what do you think of these?
I think I would have gone with the second Tuscan shot - it's a shot of a car bonnet painted with that funky 'chameleon' paint - though maybe the helmets would have done better with their brighter colours?
Anyone who wants to put a sympathy vote on my actual entry, get in touch ; ) |

Chromaflare, is the name of that type of paint, I believe.
Not a huge fan of those shots, TBH. The paint shots depend too much on knowing what one's looking at - and they look like they could have been whistled up in a decent design programme in no time (I know they haven't, but they LOOK like that.
Love the variety of colours in the lids - but I think that in the end it's just a shot of two helmets. Don't think the brickwork and the facy that they're sitting on the rear wing of a car (is it?) helps. Think I'd have given you 5 (though i don't know how they compare with other entries yet) - which in my book means good enough shot, but nothing outstanding.
Were you driving that 100 miles with a migraine in a Tuscan? If so, I'm not surprised you were ill :-)
Hope you're better now though.
Ed

Cheers for the comments Ed.
I guess the lack of replies backs up what you're saying. I would have liked to see how one of them would have done though, my actual entry isn't really me.
I so wish I was driving a Tuscan, I would probably have forgotten about the headache after the first 100 yards ; ) |

I don't have a lot more to say than Ed. The background definitely spoils it for the helmets, and you have to be a bit of a petrolhead to appreciate the Tuscan shots I think (although I do like the colour).
If you had been driving a Tuscan for 100 miles, that might have given you the migraine in the first place :-)

Not only that, you have to be a non-American petrolhead. :) I really like the color. The problem is I ended up thinking those shots were some sort of television station ad type screen that you see in between commercials. The shot would be greatly improved if there was something there that indicated there was an object attached to the color.
As for the migraine- I feel your pain. I ended up having to drive home in Friday rush hour at night wearing sunglasses because I'd had to take out my contacts due to a migraine. Not fun. [/url] |
