I'm looking into getting a flash for my camera and was thinking about the SB-80(think that's it) for my camera, my professor told me yesterday that there is some flashes made now just for digital cameras and I was wondering if anyone knew which ones they are? |

Well, he could be talking about the flashes from companies like ProMaster or Metz which have adapter modules which are designed to work with specific makes of digital camera (such as the Sony camera I have).
I know very little about Nikon's range, but I would have thought that with a good D-SLR such as you have, the Nikon flashes would work well with it. My understanding is that the D-SLR cameras are generally designed to be compatible with the manufacturer's existing flash ranges.
Take a look at //www.promaster.com/flashes.html and //www.metz.de/1_metz_2000/m_pages_english/main_index_e.php3?link=4&sub=1&linkname=mecablitz for more info. There's another company as well, but I forget the name.
