I am having some difficulty resizing my photos to an acceptable size format for the challenges. I have access to Photoshop at school, but when I resize my immages from 2560x1920 to 640x480 I end up with a really pixelated photo. I just became a member and would like to upload a picture for my profile. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

120 X 90 This is the size for your profile shot.
For you challenge shots are you using 'save for the web'?

I have looked at save for the web, I guess I haven't tried the 640 by 480 resizing but I know it doesn't work well with a resize to 120x90 |

When resizing make sure you are using bicubic (select it in a box at the bottom of the "image size" window). Also it helps to resample in steps. For example, when shrinking an image I go down 50%, then go to 640.

If you first check the box saying 'Maintain file size' then size the image, the pixels will remain the same size. You could also use Photoshop's maximizer in the quality jpg range instead of the lower ranges of quality used for the web. I'm learning, too. |
