I agree.

No offence but no idea is "stupid". If you stop thinking then you become stupid. For the most part I am having trouble voting on the challenges and would like a little more time which is why I started this thread but to call an idea stupid show a very small mind. Again no offence.

So what your saying is you race thru the voting just to get it done or do you leave constructive comments on all that you've voted on??? Personally I have been trying to comment on all I vote on and will not race thru voting just to get it done.

This idea will not work.
For example my wife could submit her photo and have a look at all the other entrants, whilst sitting at my own machine I can see her screen and therefore would have the unfair advantage of knowing what I'm up against.
Additionally the foundations behind the idea are faulted, by having the ability to vote on entries early does not reduce the number of entries on which to vote thus the number of images per week to vote on remains static, but due to the inefficent manner in which voting would then take place the idea becomes counter productive.
If the reason for this idea is a case of having some time to kill before voting starts then may I suggest that time would be better spent on further reviewing the current contests in voting stage and adding more comments to help fellow photographers - I'm sure that this approach would be most appreciated.

Not in the least!!! What he is saying is that as an example, if you two were in a race and he got there early, would it be okay for him to start before the gun went off. |

I would love a prevote - where you can enter 2 or 3 submissions for 1 day before the entry deadline so ppl could vote on them (to see if you were in the right field or left)- Just so I don't pick my worst one - Like I usually do :P Then you can submit it for the challenge.....
Maybe the scores you give do not reflect on your average vote given - so you can rattle them off fast and vote more on first impressions - rather than a indepth study of each photo...
Nawwwww - that'il never work - but I bet many ppl would want it and are driving themselves crazy trying to pick the "best one"
Just a thought |

That would be fair if we could also get pre-validation from the SC before the voting starts. And how about an option we could select that would prevent anyone from seeing our entry until the SC has appended the red text to it so everybody knows it's legal.
And how about an option where you could say to voters that you know your entry doesn't met the challenge because you don't care about that part of the competition, and for them to please just go ahead and vote as if there was no topic to the challenge. That ought to be popular because so may are doing it like that already.

Because there are weekly challenges, voting right after submission really isn't going to afford you any more voting time since you'll still have the current week's entries to vote on. Voting early would be a solution to not having enough to vote on. |

The only reason I originally liked the idea was because it might get a new challenge up sooner. I for one just submitted my first photo for any contest and I'm bored waiting for the next contest already. My bf and I check back two and three times a day so see if there is anything new to do. Its all so slow moving....... |

The challenges aren't random. The new ones start on Sunday and Tuesday nights at midnight. If you're bored, you can always vote on the challenges or leave comments on the entries.
