I've just got Photoshop CS, upgrading from Elements 2. It's kinda tough at the moment because I'm able to do all the things that I could in Elements, but there's all these other menu options in the way which I only have a vague idea how to use! A lot of the new features look good, now I just have to have a go at using them. I should end up taking a lot of photos this weekend, and some free time next week, so that should be a good opportunity. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to start going about learning all these new toys?
A few questions to start with:
What do the history and healing brushes do (in plain English please)
How do you make a quick mask?
There we go. That should be enough to start. |

Healing brush fixes small blemishes in a photo, some what like the clone tool. The history brush is great. Open a photo destaturate it, the paint over it with the history brush.

the healing brush is a bit like the cloning tool, except it takes into account the surrounding pixels you are applying it to and blends it together, unlike the cloning which will simply copy and paste an area.
History brush is for painting back parts of an image that may have been deleted steps before. I'm not that familiar with the history brush but thats the gist of it. |
