I have not been able to mark any comments useful since the start of the last challenge--thought it might be a temporary thing. Now I just notice that the last 4 comments to my portfolio, which I had marked useful, didn't stick. (Yes, the window lets me check or uncheck the box, but it doesn't stick.
I have installed some extensions, so I am taking them out one by one. Anyone have any idea, however, whether a setting in Firefox options could cause this to happen?
Apologies to the last commenters to my images who didn't get their comments marked helpful for about a week! I thought they were marked (because I marked them!). At least the ones commenting on the current challenge don't see that yet.
Edit: I should have added I just went into IE and marked those useful. But FF still not working (and it did before!)

| I've now disabled all the extensions, and its still not working. I can check/uncheck, but next time I visit, it's just like before I made the change. |

I think you are doing the right thing Neil by taking out the extensions one by one. I don't have any extensions installed and also don't have that problem. You are doing the right thing could be an extension.

Have you done the latest update on Firefox?

Have you ran a check for Spyware/Adware?
If that doesn't work try reinstalling Firefox over itself. You could have accidentally deleted a file it needs for that.

I have 1.02. That's the latest. It doesn't happen on my laptop and it wasn't updated. I am updating it now to see if that breaks it! |

Got the little bugger. I enhanced my Javascript security a week or so ago and turned off almost all the advanced options--the key one being "Change Images". I guess that affects checkboxes! I flipped it back on (all else off) and its working.
Any reason the others should be on? |

That's interesting to know. I have that one switched on because I do visit sites that use javascript to, erm, change images.

I've been happily surfing with all the others turned off since I started using Firefox Firebird Phoenix, so no I don't see any reason to have them on.

Thanks for figuring this out! I had the same problem, but I just gave up and went back to IE for DPChallenge. Now I can go back to Firefox.
