Well my Kenko 1.4x Pro 300 DG Teleconvertor arrived from Hong Kong today. I dropped $155 for a New one on ebay ($194 BH Photo). I will play with it this weekend and put some comparison shots up.

Initial Thoughts are it is a Quality build, light weight, black but don't even notice it with the white 70-200mm 4L plugged in. 5 elements and 4 groups, DG = Multicoated for Digital.

Already I know that I will get better results (70-200mm 4L+TC) at the far end than I could get with my Tamron 28-300mm XR Di LD (IF). 4L drops to 5.6 but didn't seem to be a problem outdoors, AF possibly a tad bit slower. Did hunt in low light situation for me a couple times today.

12th Story a couple blocks away 100% crop no touch.

8 feet away (pardon the blown highlites) resized

I did do some quick tests for fun by throwing my 50mm 1.8 and then my Tamron 28-300 on it and was pleasently suprised very little loss of sharpness on the 50mm 1.8 (~112mm) and well the Tamron is soft to begin with but it really got me out there...
