i have a photo that i took for the challenge and it looked fine until i resized it. now the color looks distorted when i submitted it. any tips?

Does the photo have a solid gradient in it? Where is goes from one color to another gradually? If so - that is a tuff one to get around

no it is a solid color with an object of a different color

hmmmmm ... How are you resizing the photo - with PS? What is the DPI? What quality are you saving it as? How big is the file?

584 X 549, 44k for size, and i have no idea what dpi or what the quality is..i'm new

That might be the problem right there - 44k is not very much - either it tells me that there is a lot of solid color or it is saved in to low of quality and will cause distortions ... Can you save it at a 640 size and a higher quality?

When you save a JPG you should have the option of saving the photo at different qualities - the lower the quality the lower the file size - the lower it is saved at it has to loose some of the file information - which will cauze these types of problems .... How are you saving the file? What program?

the quality is medium and i changed it to high and it still looks like $&$%^

Try it at maximum - and make sure it is under 150K
