hmm I use to work at wal-mart I'm glad I quit before the rubber duckie seeking angry mob got to me :). I wonder if it really would take 5 associates to find a rubber duck lol..

I got me a rubber duck.. my daughter got it at the mall from the easter bunny..pretty good timing huh.. now to find some green grapes...

Heh, before I got to the "extra rules" thing, I figured I'd be submitting a picture of my shoe or something... but it looks like they really do want a duckie, five grapes, water, and a blue BG.

At least, I'm not going to risk a DQ on something like this... I'll wait until something else comes along... and besides, the challenge as described could hardly be more ridiculous :)

Given that the SC actually states in the extra rules that failure to meet the challenge will result in DQ, I'll be taking a shot of my setup. Just on the off chance I manage to find 5 green grapes. I'm all out!

And I don't think I can shoot before I leave, and I may not be able to do it after work! *sob*

hey u guys read rubber duck question!!!!
04/01/2005 06:44:44 AM · #55
mine's kinda plastic-y and not exactly typical rubber duck looking. will it get me a DQ? it would pass as a rubber duck in any other challenge, but this is kinda specific

It is good to have "rubber ducky",safety is very important.

I think this would be a great time to institute an Honorable Mention Ribbon and then give everybody one of those just for going along with this [possible joke].

You sleep with a rubber duck and a bunch of grapes?

My three year old son was quite upset that daddy was taking his rubber ducky. He was inconsolable and promises of a new duck did not make it better. I had to put the duck back in the tub and sneak back to get the duck when he wasn̢۪t looking. I hope he doesn̢۪t notice the grapes. ;~)

Who knows where this song is from? Parents should get this.

Rubber ducky, you're the one
You make bathtime lots of fun
Rubber ducky I am awfully fond of you

Rubber Ducky, joy of joys
When I squeeze you, you make noise
Rubber ducky you're my very best friend - it's true

Oh, every day when I make my way to the tubby
I find a little fella who's cute and yellow and chubby
Rubber dubber ducky

Rubber ducky you're so fine
And I'm lucky that you're mine
Rubber ducky I am awfully fond of
Rubber duck I wish I had a whole pond of
Rubber ducky I am awfully fond of you

Luckily when you have a three year and rubber ducky is not hard to find...I'm just trying to narrow it down to which one to use lol. My problem is going to be finding a blue background.

Grumble, grumble...

Just checked, the best aperture I can get with my camera is 5.6. Darn it, I had everything else in place too! ;^)

Hey! Is this finally the excuse I needed for a DSLR? he-he...

umm well I must admit.. I don't know how to use or set f-5,f-6, or f-7. It's just not one of the functions I've ever had to fiddle with. What are the f-stops how do you set them and what are they for?..... yup my feeble knowledge of photography has come out in the open.

You're not getting away with it that easily - the Z2 goes up to f8 :)

Woohoo! I'm back in business! I wasn't thinking and just snapped a shot with landscape setting and it wasn't getting me out far enough.

Duh! One of the things I like about my camera is the manual and aperture modes...I can get F8. Geez, need another cup of coffee!!!

I don't know your camera at all, just looking at the picture of it now. Is there a "AV" on the dial on the top? If so, turn it to that then turn the black dial next to the shutter button and you should see the aperture value changing on the lcd. Shutter speed is automatically set by camera to compensate for whatever f-stop you choose (within a certain range). Hope this helps.

You must be too slow, only my wife says that I'm too quick ;)

I'm going to have to sneek this one in. I just showed my wife this challenge (she thinks we're a tad bit nuts), and I told her I was out of luck...her reply was "Good, then you have time to take the garbage to the dump?" :^)

thanks telehubbie. I'll have to check and see when I get off work. BTW when would you use f-9 vs f-2?

Haha, I entered a rubber ducky into my last challenge...

It is clear to me now that this challenge is my life's calling. Until now I wasn't sure of my purpose, but now my destiny is clear. I feel like I was ordained to meet this challenge.
