I was wondering what I should charge for the Canon Rebel, Battery Grip, 4 batteries, and the 28-135mm IS.
The camera has 15000 pics on it but it looks brand new same with the grip and lens.
I have the original warranty card and the original boxes for everything. The Camera is a year old and the lens is about 6 months.
Should I sell it together or separate and how much??

Not sure if this helps... but I recently sold my Digital Rebel (300D) for $450, including the kit lens. It was purchased the end of last April and was still under warranty.

$450? surely it would be worth more than that. My advice is to use ebay. it is a seller's world on ebay. I offered my sony f828 with a lot of accessories on here for $600. I didn't even get someone halfway interested. I put it on ebay and ended up getting $820 for it. Surely you can get more than that for it. Just my thoughts.

I really like the look of you 350XT, so I'm thinking of upgrading to that or the 20D.

//www.fredmiranda.com is the best place for that sort of information...take a look at the last 4 or 5 rebels that sold on there and you should get an idea.
Don't sell this for less than $600 if it's in new condition.
I have mine for sale as well (DRebel kit, great condition with ext. warranty until Dec 2007) and was offered $800 Canadian (about $640 US for it but turned it down...I just don't have enough to upgrade to the 20d quite yet. I'll probably kick myself in a few weeks.

Sell it on ebay - by the piece - the camera, the kit lens, the big lens, the grip, etc. more hassle in some ways, but more money in the end.
fred miranda is another good place to check out. no ebay fees! (but often no feedback...)

If anyone wants to make a serious offer on my Rebel with kit lens (or without, your choice), purchased around October, pm me. I will eventually sell it on e-bay but I'm busy now. Opportunity knocks! |

If it helps, I bought mine for $650 used (around 9 or 19,000 shots.. the guy guesstimated that he had taken a few thousand, but the file numbers were in the 9s). with battery grip and kit lens.. but this was definitely an exceptional deal (i wasn't even planning on getting a rebel, but stumbled across this deal and couldn't pass it up!). that being said, he definitely could have sold it for around 725-750, in my opinion. this was many months ago, before the 350 was ever announced though, and the presence of the new rebel will surely cut into your resale price slightly :(

what batteries do you have?
I'd lighten your load by grabing some of those batteries for a good price.
let me know |

When you resell your Rebel on ebay (or elsewhere) does the warranty transfer to the purchaser?
Also--I am starting working on listing mine on ebay, so if anyone has any tips, this is my first time. Or if anyone here is interested, let me know before I list and I'll hold off.
If you have any advice, here's my description beyond their standard Rebel description:
A 300D/Digital Rebel "kit" purchased this past September, in like new (perfect) condition. The camera comes with all the kit accessories, plus a UV filter which is used to protect the kit lens, and a circular polarizing filter, used to enhance contrast and skies, both in perfect condition.
The LiIon battery is still in perfect charging condition as well, easily holding a full days charge.
The camera does not have any scratches and is not marred. Looking at it, it looks brand new. The lens is also in new condition.
Surprisingly, I saw a listing fee and a selling fee, but they did not tell me how much yet. Maybe at the end of all those forms?
Thanks--Neil |

Have you held the 350XT in your hands?
I had a chance to do so recently and I was unimpressed with the feel of the camera body. I felt like I was tying my hands into knots while attempting to activate the shutter.
It is more compact, but to me that comes at a cost of ergonomic feel. |

I'm still shooting--I ordered a Rebel XT. I wanted the next generation when I bought mine in September, but my G2 broke and I had no choice but to buy a new camera at that time! And to me, smaller is better.
I am only selling the kit lens with it, not my other lenses. However, I am considering selling my 70-200/4L in the future. It's a great lens but I hate carrying it anywhere. I just have to decide whether or not it's worth having such an expensive lens sitting at home most of the time.
Actually, I also would consider selling my Sigma 18-125 when the 18-200 comes out (if it seems as good).
I like the features and quality of an SLR, but I really don't want to deal with carrying a lot of stuff.
As to selling the kit lens by itself, I probably will sell the camera as a kit, just because it probably will sell more easily that way. If it doesn't sell and I decide to keep the camera and just have a second body, then I'd consider selling the kit lens.
Average selling price of the 300D kit on ebay is $650. I'll take less, but not too much.
