I know there is a thread running on this but i am finding it hard to find the answer to my qustion which is this.

I recently did a stint at a Modified car show for 3 hours over the weekend. While there I talked to each person and took pictures of there car in various angles and told them that the pictures will be up for sale from monday and if they bought a copy of the photography they could get a discount! there were also handed a flyer with address and discount details etc...

Someone (who was not a car owner) is stating that I can not sell these pictures as i do not have copyright to do so? As i was working freelance in a public arena with a pass to all areas and the organisers knew I was there do I hold the copyright as i took the pictures?

I think I do but I am not %100

Confused?? but thanks in advance

You need to look at the terms & conditions under which you entered the show.
There has been a lot of upset at UK tracks in the last couple of years with pro photographers with media passes being stopped from selling prints to the drivers. You should be able to find some info in this forum

Hi
thanks for the reply,
there was no contract drawn up!!! I sent an email requesting a pass to the event fr photography and they said "yeah sure, come on the day and we will sort it out then" so i turn up and given a pass for all areas and let loose.

nothing signed from anybody.
thinking about it this could be one of those leassons to be learned things :p
