After a challenge ends, winners are prompted for their originals, right?
After the admins check it, for it's legitimacy, and it turns out that everything is OK, what happens to the originals? Do they get deleted?
Something I just thought of......

| They are not deleted. They are kept with the original request where only sc/admins have access. I don't get to see too many originals though since I'm on dialup and it takes literally like 1/2 hour just to load on my slow old computer, so I usually only see the exif from the originals, but they are there for reference. The good side to this, is if you've won a ribbon, or had to submit proof for any reason...then your computer gets run over by a train and you lose all your originals, we might be able to help you recover at least one. :) |

I'm a little surprised by this. Given the storage demands on this server, I'd think it would be most efficient to keep them as long as verification is an issue, then discard. On second though, the originals for the top five places (and any DQ challenges) probably only amount to a small percentage of the 10s of thousands of images stored here. |

5 places with average file size 5MB = 25MB
200 entries with 150K each = 30MB
so its got to be comparable storage. |
