Member challenges, but not always. Members tend to represent a higher proportion of serious photographers (willing enough to spend money on membership), and there are fewer people entering truly bad photos just because they can. With Open challenges, there are usually more entries, thus more opportunities for really good and really bad images. |

Members or Open has nothing to do with it for me... I usually only vote on the challenge that interests me, as far as topic. For example, "cemetery" does not interest me (even though I enterd it, but I shouldn't of:), but "In The Beginning" definitely is very interesting.
And in any case, I tend to comment on around 33% of the photos I vote on.

I should note that I don't score photos any differently because of membership or challenge topic. It's just that Member challenges seem to have slightly higher-quality images on average than the Open challenges. |

Doesn't matter to me either.
I only vote on challenges i participate on right now. Members challenge tend to have better photographic quality tho (IMO). |

A quick look at the recent challenges show the winning scores (Open vs Member) is roughly equal but the average scores are consistently higher for member challenges (about 5.0 vs 5.5).
Why?
Better photographs from members (on average)
Members vote higher than others?
Fewer weak photoĂ¢€™s entered?
I would like the stats to show the votes not by Camera/No-Camera but by Member vs Reg User.
