I have received several requests to post an index of my Favorite Photographer Profiled writings. I've indexed them alphabetically by artist below. As you know, some of these fine photographers have won ribbons, some haven't. All are excellent photographers from whom I've learned a lot!

When I have review an artist's portfolio, I have usually tried to identify some particular element or trait that they exemplify well (though each could be the subject of many topics, of course!). I've included these topics also below, after the artist's name.

I hope this is helpful. I plan to do more profiles, unless someone tells me to stop! There are just so many excellent photographers here on DPC. Congratulations to you all and thanks for teaching me so much!

If my list below is incomplete, please let me know!

Who? ;-)

These are great, David. Pity that some of these photographers have all but disappeared from the challenges: indigo997, scab-lab, inga fang, carsten, frisca, jodiecoston, that kiwi guy... Could you just imagine of this whole group entered every challenge?

I'd question any photographer that didn't have Grigrigirl in their favorites (oh and Goldberry :-).

j/k

Hmmmmmm... Goldberry and Grigrigirl... OK, done. Hope I'm OK now.

Grigrigirl IS in my favorites; I just haven't profiled her yet! I have a lot of favorites.

Thanks for both the supreme effort in profiling all these photogs, and almost as importantly, for taking the time to collate them into one tidy package.

Cheers

You put your own profile in your favorites?

You'll have to try a lot harder than that to get into David's fave photogs list!

That was a guest profile provided by Mavrik. Lots of folks (including myself) think David ranks right up there with these other photographers, and it would be a shame not to have a similar profile for him.

I wrote that one, as Scalvert said. :)

I´m gonna try it.

Not only are these profiles really enjoyable to read, and sometimes thought-provoking too, they also really motivate me. One day, I'm gonna be good enough at SOME aspect of my photography that I receive a little message from David...

"Dear Kavita, You may know of my series of photographer profiles. I was wondering if..."

I'll keep dreaming for now!

LOL

THANKS DAVID!

Ooh it's even better than that ... they just appear ... and then your jaw hits the desk when you see your name .... and then you dribble a lot and mumble incomprehensibly.

Can you tell I haven't recovered yet?

One day Kavey, the Princess of Penguins? Oh, but you'd have to post some for that :P

David, thanks for collecting these together - my watched threads list just got a lot shorter : )
SC, could these not all be moved into the Member Interviews forum?

Hmm - yes, Scalvert, I s'pose some photogs must be an acquired taste. Either that or he just doesn't update his list very often. Or perhaps he has no taste at all? No - can't be that. Or maybe David's a total enigma with a crazy, wayward form of selection process. Whatever, they're a great read nonetheless.

Bod, :o)
I'm thinking to load some up when I get back from the trip I'm about to go on... so look out towards end of April. Trouble is I entered a couple of the strongest ones (including the one you really liked) into a competition so I'm hesitant to upload those incase that counts as prior publication...

Yeah, I don't make it either, Jon :-)
