Is there anyway to see individual scores or a breakdown of 1 through 10 as the voting is going on like it shows after the voting is over. It would be interesting to see how the bar graph develops during the voting instead of waiting til it's over. The over all current score is nice but leaves a lot of input left out.

Not that I know of. You have to just keep hitting update, update, update and do the math. What a life....

The only way to do so is to keep track of your updates in a spreed sheet. If only one vote comes in then you will know what it was. If more than one vote come in between updates then its an average. I used excel for along time keeping track of votes in the spread sheet and even had a graph showing how votes went. Believe me it is not worth it. You will get depressed when you see the one, two, and three votes roll in after receiving fives, sixes, and sevens.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Yup what a life we have all fallen into ... sitting in front of a computer watching votes ... what a rollercoaster. Well better than a bag of potatoes in front of the tv. ;)

To me the most interesting stat would be the current ranking out of all the entries. Am I in 280th place, or am I in 281st place?

I think both would be great additions to the voting process...

ANother idea to smooth the rollercoaster ... drop the bottom 5% and the top 5% of all votes. This way the votes from friends go away and votes from people with an overall bad attitude go away. I think this may give a better feeling of overall quality of the photo. What think ye?

That won't help anything. If you have friends voting on your image and you have told them what it is so you can get a higher vote then that is ruining the value of this site. Anonimity is the one reason for this and it works if you don't tell people what your image is.

Nahhh. The excitement of a few tens helps me ignore the ones!
...and just don't tell your friends, or insist that they be truly objective.

If you are telling your friends which entry is yours, you're underming the anonymity of the challenge and violating the spirit of the rules. Just accept the voting system, and the way it reports the results. It's a system that works. You don't really need to know any more information, and anything you come up with on your own, like a spreadsheet, is simply speculation because voters can change their votes right up until the close. And there is the automatic takeout of the votes from people who don't get to the 20% minimum, and the screening for trolls. Put your energies into making better photographs.

Using a spreadsheet to find out what the vote was? Someone has too much time on their hands. I just wait for the final info.

I wrote a PHP/MySQL + JavaScript solution for that :) I used to track votes when I started here but I no longer bother about scores.
