Hi
I read in the manual that the camera (or manual focus as well) can focus at a distance of 3 cm or 1.2 cm from the lens. I tried that but can't focus from like 4 inches close to the lens. Anything I do wrong or ??? P.S. I was in a good light condition (I know this camera hardly can autofocus on low light condition).
Thanks

try zooming in 75% while in macro mode, then see if you can get closer

But can you focus as close as the manual says? (less than 1" away from the lens)?

I have accomplished this mainly using the manual focus. The zipper on my macro shot this week was probably just outside of an inch away.
I use the area focus mode, and autofocus, if that does not work I will do it manually. On macro's usually taking the time anyway, so I will do auto and manually (of course with aperture/shutter adjustments).

You should be able to fucus from about 1" as long as the camera is in Macro mode AND you are zoomed in about 1/2 way. I just tried it...sharp as a tack!
