Thought some of you might get a kick out of these guys in my yard..they were all puffed up and stamping their feet at each other to impress the females..sounded like drumming.

Those are wonderful photos dragonlady.

You must have one fantastic telephoto lens, or these turkeys are not afraid of humans. Where I live it is not unusual to see 100 or more wild turkeys in a field, but try taking 5 steps in their direction... and voila... they head for the hills.

Mmmmm I wonder if the fact that hunters also like to take shots at them has anything to do with their behaviour.

Ray, I have been putting out some sunflower seed all winter; they have become adapted to me...I can usually get with 5 feet of them...I hope this doesn't hurt their survival chances with the hunters.
