Thought some of you might get a kick out of these guys in my yard..they were all puffed up and stamping their feet at each other to impress the females..sounded like drumming. |

Those are wonderful photos dragonlady.
You must have one fantastic telephoto lens, or these turkeys are not afraid of humans. Where I live it is not unusual to see 100 or more wild turkeys in a field, but try taking 5 steps in their direction... and voila... they head for the hills.
Mmmmm I wonder if the fact that hunters also like to take shots at them has anything to do with their behaviour.

Ray, I have been putting out some sunflower seed all winter; they have become adapted to me...I can usually get with 5 feet of them...I hope this doesn't hurt their survival chances with the hunters.
