I know most of you will probably say "run away as fast as you can" but I have 2 weddings in the next week at the beach. These are at mid afternoon aswell. I know the pitfalls here and have done some tests with some pleasing results but I'd like to hear tips from anybody to make sure I get the bext results I possibly can. Filters, tricks, exposure balance etc... I know beach weddings are tricky but I've also seen good results too! It's only the ceremony that will be at the beach, the main photos will be at a local park. The bride and groom for both weddings will be tradition al black and white also!

Keep the camera out of the water. The salt messes up the sensor.

make sure it is setup not facing the sunset. i just went to a beach wedding and it was pretty hard to get good photos when there is such a powerful backlight. also it is pretty blinding for the people who are viewing the wedding.

The time is about 1:30 so sun should still be pretty high up! Is it worth using a polariser if i'm having the water in the background of some?

Go out on a day before the wedding at about the same time the wedding is to take place if this is possible. Bring someone to use for a few test shots to find out how your camera will react to reflection and glare and ajust accordingly. You won't have time for much experimentation while the wedding is actually in progress.

Oh, and keep the camera out of the water. The salt... yeh, I know...
