hi. i know i've read this somewhere here or a link from this site, but can anyone tell me how (or where i can find out how) to have PS CS open a bunch of raw files (25 i think), resize them down to 500px on the long side and save them as a med-low qual jpg?

in the file browser you will find a heading called 'automate'. create an action that does what you want, then run the action on as many files as you want (I've done over 100 at a time). you can apply RAW settings to an entire folder of images as well without the action (also in the file browser)

thanks! i kept googling until i found what i needed: in the file/automate menu there is a command called fit image - that allows you to make all the shots have the same largest dimensions.

the action is still running now, but it seems to be working great.

thanks again,
ara

You want the best thing for this. Russel Brown's Image Processor. Even has a turorial on its use there. The guy is a bit goofy but great at what he does.
