When you go into someone's portfolio, do the titles influence which images you decide to open?
03/24/2005 04:30:33 PM · #2
Nope, don't influence me at all
03/24/2005 04:31:26 PM · #3
If I see a less formal title, or one with .jpg on th eend, I do think of it more as a draft and I don't open those as much. The thumbnail influences me as well.
03/24/2005 04:31:39 PM · #4
Not usually. Has to be enigmatic or a real grabber to draw me in by words alone.
03/24/2005 04:35:45 PM · #5
It depends. If I'm scrolling down the first page of someone's profile, then I see only a limited number of images near the top. Those I'll view only if the image "grabs me". The challenge entries are listed chronologically by title. Those I typically view according to the title (but sometimes by challenge or where the photographer 'placed').

No.

Edit: But I do appreciate a good "Photographer's comments". It is so disappointing to open an interesting image and there is nothing about the contents or what moved the pg to do what he/she did.

I go by thumbnails. I do appreciate that some images display well as thumbs and some don't so I open to full size anything that even vaguely intrigues me. I only notice titles at that stage.

No

I don't look at the titles until after I look at the image.

I don't necesarily look at the titles but sometimes they jump out at you and you can't help but to read them.

Generally....image first but it all works.

Nope. All about the pretty pictures.

nope never. Somtimes after i have looked at something that interests me i will then look at the title, but only then. Same with voting has no influence on my voting either

Yes. I do look for the challenge first and then the photographer's title.:) Makes more sense to me.

With thumbnails, a title would have to, really, pack some punch or arouse my curiosity to cause me to open it. Once the image is up, in its full glory, the title becomes a more meaningful part of the presentation.

What he said, especially the "edit" part!

I usually look for the nude pictures first then look at them for about an hour then go from there. :-)

Funny that... I feel the same way about the folks who leave me a score of 1 and can't be bothered to tell me why they think I operate a camera at about the same level of dexterity as a primate.

I don't care who you that is funny right there. I personally never rate below a 4. Used to be 5 but that was too high for ones that were trying to win the brown ribbon.
