Well I went from my casio exilim to the rebel xt and Iâm hating it. The problem starts with the instant on, ok .2 seconds as compared to my casio of like 3.5 second start up so now I able to shoot faster from off to on. Next is the high ISOâs, dang there is an ISO higher then 400? And on the rebel xt it doesnât include that neat auto filter of all these little specs of random colors, so I find that I have to spend more time in post processing to put back that filter effect that Iâm used to from the casio at any ISO setting higher then 80. Not to mention ALL the dang buttons on this âRebel XTâ... sheesh do there need to be so many! Most importantly I bought the black colored body so I guess Iâll keep it... :) |

Fate here = The Canon Digital Rebel 350XT - with lens is $999 (or less) and the body only is $899 or less.
The D70 is a great camera, but the 350XT is a bit better in some ways, and being newer and having more lenses to choose from...and cheaper too. |
Having more lenses to choose from? If Nikon ever came out with a good DSLR in the 1Ds class I would seriously consider switching back just for the Nikon lens variety. You may want to do you homework on that one.

I did a lot of research before buying the Pentax IST ds.. and I love it! I have a lot of control and it is very comparable to the D70 which some of my friends have.. what I loved more about it was obviously the size.. much lighter than the D70 but also it had more focus points when in the auto-focus mode.. it's just a very user friendly camera that gives amazing results!! |

I'm getting the *ist Ds ASAP.. my original purchase time was May, but my mom has agreed to try and get me some money.. so I'm *hoping* I'll have it by next week. (Since the $100 rebate is on right now and I want to take advantage of that). I'm soooo excited.. but frustrated too.. not knowing when I'll be getting it. lol.
I go to Vancouver all the time.. going down in mid-April. I met Frisca for a day a few weekends ago. Good fun. If I have my *ist Ds by mid-April, we should compare shots :) (Don't think I'll have any time to myself for a meet up or anything though this time around)

So I went to best buy today ( NO! I dont ever plan on buying from them in case you're questioning my sanity). But anyway, I messed around with the E300 some more and I'm starting to like it more and more. Its a lot more ergonomic than the D70 and the menus are really simple. Plus its got the dust shaker thing and its really light. Oh ya, I know it really doesnt matter, but its also 8.0 megapixel. Im not so sure about the lens quality however.
Man, im obsessed now, all I can think about is how much my c750 sucks and how nice all those SLR's out there operate. |

What's wrong with buying from Best Buy? Got mine there, no troubles at all.

Ya, im mean the store is ok, but the price is kinda bad. They wanted $1100 for a D70 with one lens when u can get it online from a reputably store for $1000 with two nikon lenses. |
