I'd say, look at some stock photography websites (imagebank comes up to my mind always) and search for pictures with that description. It might give u some "light" on the matter.

Photos for what purpose? The other big issue would be their relative heights. There's some things which work better if they're the same, some better if one's markedly taller.

Your lens and lighting will make a difference too. If you can shoot with a deep DOF you can position the taller one slightly behind, so their shoulders overlap a little, and you get their heads tighter without it looking like they're necking. You might try shooting this from a slightly oblique angle, too.

If you're shooting with a shallow DOF you'll have to get both their faces into the focal plane.

i am a fairly new "portrait" photographer and new ideas are always welcome... the learning never ends as far as photography goes... so far i have just used flat lighting but i have been taught some new techniques & will be using them soon.... i haven't taken too many portraits of siblings & just wanted to get more ideas for posing styles etc... i will try the imagebank suggestion ..and the other suggestion in regards to dof....thanks!!
