Hey Andi - how about an update!!

hmm,it has now been released from customs after spending the Easter break in a cold warehouse. Apparently customs took a shine to the package and want some money.

After a couple of phone calls today and a bill for £60.74 the lens was released. The good news is if the lens ever leaves the European Union again I can claim back the £60.74 but the charge for doing so it £60 so maybe I won't bother.

Might be in my sweaty palm by lunchtime tomorrow :)

Blimey! I would be worse than a expectant father! Oh well soon be there mate.

cheers
Mike
p.s. I love the fact that to get your 60.74 back you have to spend 60 ....what would we do without all this red tape crap.

Whilst speaking with the nice lady from FedEx she said there are a lot of dodgy dealings with imports right now and its their way of trying to combat it??. Funny thing, the first thing they asked was "is it an Ebay purchase". Well it wasn't, it is direct from my new friend Albert :)

Yesterday I changed the delivery address to work and was sat here eagerly waiting for security to tell me the parcel had arrived. They only went and delivered it to my home address and they won't let me go home early :( Mike, this is worse than being an expectant father!

That happened to me once, ordered some kit and arranged for delivery at my work, so I am nipping in the post room at work every 20 mins - nothing. Get home and there is the card saying they tried to deliver but nobody at home!! aaarrrgghhh. Really pisses me off when that happens.

I do so hope this isn't going to be an anti climax? Almost ran home tonight (well, walked briskly) knocked on my neigbours door to pick up the lens and they ARE OUT!! I do hope they have not gone on holiday!!!!

tch tch, bt 6:00pm I'd had enough of banging on the door so I went home and rang the house. Sure enough the wife answered the phone, she'd been in bed all day with the flu and had only got up to accept the lens. I got her to get up again open the door and she did look ill (bless her).

Anyway, its dark, I'm tired and watching England (painfully). You'll be glad to hear I'll shut up now and take my new baby out for a test drive at the weekend :)

Yup, she is a big heavy brute so I guess I need a new tripod next lol.
The very first pic with it...

Damn, I thought it would make me an instant pro lol

lol Mike, my personal critique would be...

"The bamboo is oof and overlaps the wonderful picture of the Swan at rest, and the two subject don't marry up with a central theme. The wall looks too white to be real (its actually cream) My score would be 4"

Where should I post the lens to?

Am going to learn to love this lens, the clarity and sharpness on the top flower looks awesome in CS but, feeling lucky the orig went in the bin to make room for better things ;)
