Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to say thanks to you all - because of all your help and input since I started here, I finally got the thrill of having an exhibit entry sell:) (The local civic center has seasonal shows for open to local artists for two entries each and I have been entering for over a year). Opening night a few weeks ago was finally the night I had been hoping for with a lot of interest in my work, but my better half missed it due to recovering from back surgery. We stopped by Saturday and found out one had been marked "sold". It was only $35 (one of the staff said it should have been 60-65 and I should work on my pricing) but I don't really care about that - I'm just thrilled it sold:) Next week they will announce a winner based on public voting - again, only $50, but that would definately be fun too - please wish me luck:)
Thanks again - you guys are the best!

That is awsome BJ. I am really happy for you and wish you all the luck in every sphere of life. Its the small pleasure of life that makes our life rich ... so its important to enjoy them fully and not to waste them waiting for big breaks. I hope your wife recovers soon to celebrate every exciting moment with you, adding to the true pleasures of life. (Aamen)

Thank you Kirbic and Nonage! Also for your kind words about my spouse (actually it is my husband- i never realized I was appearing as a male figure so I just fixed it) He should be much better in a couple of months:)

BJ,
Be proud that someone appreciates your work enough to buy it. That is the highest form of praise.

Thanks - it sure is a great feeling - and if it never happens again I think I would be okay with that. I enjoy process and the sharing at these shows, and getting to appreciate the other entries and talking to the artists there. There's so much talent in the world:)

Thanks Sunniee and Coolhar!
Here is the selling one:
It is more digital art from an original photograph of a duck on a lake, printed on canvas paper to give it texture:
My second entry (the person running the show said this one should get alot of votes based on comments):
This was a macro of a painted turtle hatchling found in my yard last spring - his shell was about an inch in diameter.
The theme of the show was "spring" :)

Well done! You've inspired me to continue. I like the circular frame, it's quite effective. |

Seriously well done! Selling that picture must have been a real buzz.
Best wishes also to your husband. I hope his back is feeling better.
