Gotta go to work now. I'd love to get some feedback on these 6 photos in my people portfolio.

Portrait photography is very new to me.

Hmmm - you want the good or the bad?
girl2 - the background is TOO dark, her hair blends into it. Her face is great though.

girl3 - face is a bit dark, fingers too bright. use a refletor to bounce some light onto her face. i'd like a bit shallower DOF.

girl1 - again, less DOF, dark background and her hair blend, the sign behind her back is distractin, see the DOF comment.

girl 1a/b - i like b a bit better, but the railing in 1 is nicer. the tree behind her head starts to get a bit distracting in b. This is where layers and masks in PS can mix hte best of both versions.

sky 1 - comb her hair. why the happy yelllow sundress and dour face? why the lounging position on a farm equipment or whatnot? compositionally this one needs some help.

Almost all of these could benefit from more light on the subject. Only Sky-1 really separates the girl from the background. They're all nice poses, though, especially girl 3.

As for girl 1a and 1b - it is not necessary to desaturate the background to make her the focus of the image. There are much more subtle and sophisticated ways of doing that in photoshop. The almost total desaturation in 1b is like a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
