I am a fairly new guy here. This is my first post on the boards however.
I usually just lurk and view the wonderful images.
Tonight I am asking if anyone could give my site a look and tell me what they think. I would appreciate your reaction to the site and the images.
I must tell you,
First; that this is my first website using Dreamweaver.
I had to learn it myself and put it together. I really wanted to use something other than MS Frontpage.
Second; I was going for simplicity. I wanted the images to do the talking, BUT, I feel it comes across a little impersonal.
This where I would like your feedback. I am not entirely finished but the substance of the site is there.
Thank you in advance. There are some Nudes, so be aware.

Here are my initial thoughts on the site:
Loads quickly which is good. I like the logo on the splash page but the "enter" button looks a little too Apple to me. I'd rather see the logo just be a link into the site.
The links on the inside page are different colors. Is this to set them apart? Maybe the email link can go on the bottom of the page to offset it from the links of photos.
I'd prefer font consistency throughout the site, rather than using a different one on the nude subpage and then in the actual albums.
I really like the set up of the photos. Quick loading and easy to see. Might be nice to have navigation links from one photo to the next so that you don't have to go back to the album page each time.
I could do without the back arrow icon. I'd probably suggest including some sort of nagivation bar (just text, whatever) so that you could skip from one album to the next rather than having to go back to the front.
These, of course, are just my opinions and are just for consideration. Overall, the site is nice and easy to use. Good work. Some information about you might make it a little more personal. Who are you, what do you do, what kinds of photography do you like, etc. Is this site for business or just to display your work?
(I assume you know that the pregnancy and industrial links don't work...)

I like the look and the feel in general. I always think the basic white web sites can feel very professional. I also like the graphics you have used.
However, I think some work is needed on the navigation, just simple stuff.
I go into the salt falts gallery, thimbs, all very nice. The problem though is everytime I click on a thumb I have to then go back from the full image to the thumbs and then onward to the next image. A "Next" button there woiuld avoid having to keep going in/out the whole time.
The "problem" then got a lot worse when I wanted to go to the next gallery, outdoors I think it was. I then had to use the back button about 20 times to reach the gallery selection page, as I had to step back through every image to struggle back. Again, a very easy solution would be a button to allow me to jump back.
Nice web site in general though, and fixing what I see are the issues is very simple indeed :)

First website I have ever been to that has an industrial nudes link even if I couldn't get it to work.

Nice photos!
You might try viewing the site at 800x600... it dosn't work well for people with that resolution (I'm looking at it with an older laptop, and it's a very awkward site at that setting). |

I'm not a fan of thumbnails that only features a small part of the actual photo. If it looks that good in that crop, why didn't you crop the final picture that way? This bugs me on many websites, not just yours... the whole point of the thumbnail is so I know whether I want to look at the final photo or not. |

i wrestle with this issue, too, but tend to lean the other way. for most images, you just can't get enough detail in a thumbnail to really do the image justice. it gets even stickier when you start factoring in potential browser resolutions and the amount of real estate needed to simply show off the thumbnails. that's why i prefer a cropped thumb that leads to something with slideshow capabilities... |

Wow. Thank you all. I agree the navigation needs a little work. I realize that now. The different fonts is a good point. I will standardize that.
I personally like the cropped thumbnail view. It leves a little excitement, or disappointment, when the final image is revealed.
Sorry if it looks crappy in 800x600. I have no idea how to make that work other than put a statement that says "Best viewed in 1024 x 768" ;)
Industrial nudes will work once I complete processing the pictures and uploading them to the site.
Thanks again for all your help. It gives me some good direction.
